Admissions Process

The admissions process helps determine whether Del Mar Pines will be a good "fit" for your child, so that he or she will have a successful elementary school experience. Our objective is to select students who are socially, emotionally, and scholastically prepared for an academic, nurturing educational program.

To apply to Del Mar Pines School please:

  • Complete the Application for Enrollment and return it with a $50 non-refundable applications fee.
  • Give your current teacher the following recommendation form. Please have them fill it out and mail or fax it directly to Del Mar Pines.
  • These two forms must be received by our admissions office before March 1, 2012.
  • After receiving all completed forms, we will put your child on our waiting list. Contracts for current students are due the end of February. All children who have applied for the grades in which space is available will be evaluated. During this evaluation, your child will work with Mrs. Wist, participate in a variety of evaluative activities and tour the campus. At the same time, you will have an opportunity to interview with Mrs. McCord, and ask any questions you may have. After your child has finished with Mrs. Wist, she will review your child's results with you. There is a non-refundable $150 fee for this evaluation process.

At Del Mar Pines School, acceptances are offered on an ongoing basis. Once a class has been filled, a list is established of students who qualified for admittance to Del Mar Pines School, but there were no more available spaces. Due to family relocation, several children each year may be accepted between May and August.
